The Canadian Children’s Opera Company performance of The Snow Queen at Harbourfront Centre is sure to enchant the entire family.
A young girl, Gerda, embarks on a challenging journey to the far north to rescue her friend Kai from the clutches of the Snow Queen. Along the way, she meets a series of magical characters that variously help or hinder her quest.
Audiences can expect a world-class ensemble, including some of Toronto’s most talented child & youth vocalists and an orchestra. It goes without saying that kids are especially entranced and motivated when the stars before them are peers, or young people they can identify with and look up to.
We love the way CCOC is committed to providing transformative experiences with the arts to children and youth, regardless of socio-economic background, gender or race. This is a wonderful way to introduce kids to a unique art form–storytelling through opera–and will help foster an enjoyment of the arts.
