Sex and science converge this Friday!
SEXposium is a day of provocative dialogue and sexual discovery, presented through a series of talks, discussions and posters from scientists and researchers. Guest speakers include Dr. Terry Humphreys, professor of Psychology at Trent University, who will discuss consent in the #MeToo era; Dr. Nancy Forger, professor of Neuroscience and director of the Neuroscience Institute at Georgia State University, who will lead a talk on sex differences in the brain; and Dr. Justin Lehmiller, a research fellow at the Kinsey Institute and author of the blog Sex and Psychology, who will look at the ways we see ourselves in our sexual fantasies—and what it means.
The talks run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Royal Ontario Museum. Later that evening the ROM will be hosting its final Friday Night Live event of the season – #FNLROM: Arachnophile, where you can explore the ROM after dark (including the new Spiders: Fear and Fascination exhibit), watch Toronto’s fiercest queens compete at AvengeHERs: Earth’s Fishiest Heroes Drag Show, and unleash your inner child at the adult colouring book bar.
Tickets range from $9 to $40 and include admission to the talks, refreshments and snacks or lunch. Get yours here.
