Sexuality and eroticism can be interpreted in many different ways. The Sex Show–a group exhibition held annually at Gallery 1313 (1313 Queen St. W.)–explores a wide variety of sex-related themes and content while attempting to push the boundaries of the definition of sex.
Opening Thursday, February 15th, this year’s show is curated by gallery director Phil Anderson and will feature works from thirteen artists in different mediums such as video, photography, mixed media, sculpture, collage and paint. The opening night will also feature a reading from Toronto author Andrea Werhun’s newest book, Modern Whore: A Memoir, a collection of short stories and portraits that provide a fascinating and refreshing account of what it’s like to work as an escort. (You can read our interview with Werhun here).
The opening reception will be held Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and the exhibition runs until February 25th. Admission is free!
