More than sixty contemporary art pieces created by OCAD University students, faculty, and alumni will be on display in the upper level of the Yorkville Village shopping mall (87 Avenue Rd.) this week as part of the fourth annual Yorkville Village Arts Festival.
Along with the exhibit, Saturday’s festivities will include a panel with the artists, a live painting session led by Anishinaabe artist Chief Lady Bird, and the virtual reality exhibit Never Forget: An Architecture of Memory, which serves as a “sonic memorial” to the late Anna van Vliet and her memories of the period prior to and including World War II.
Among this year’s featured pieces is a collaborative project called Children’s Games (After Brueghel) by award-winning artist Hudson Christie and students from Jesse Ketchum Public School. This and other works on display will be available for purchase during the festival.
