Hova made stops in Montreal, London, Ottawa and Toronto on his Blueprint 3 tour, and had Drake join him onstage for his Hallowe’en show in the T-Dot. It was Drake’s first performance since he underwent knee surgery for three torn ligaments in September. He came onstage to the opening of his track “Successful”, changing the first line to, “Ah yeah, Toronto, I fuckin’ feel you.” Ladies and gentlemen, Drizzy Drake is back.
Drake has been largely flying under the radar since he’s still recovering from his surgery, but Jay-Z told MuchMusic that he thinks that Drake has everything it takes to become a superstar, just advising him to keep his focus: “He proved that he was very talented with that mixtape — it was phenomenal. He just has to maintain that focus. I think he’s gonna be fine.”
Drake is probably feeling some pressure due to Lil Wayne’s jail sentence next year having just signed to Weezy’s label Young Money this year. He told Rap-Up.com that he’ll do what he can do keep the Young Money team going, saying, “I just want to play my part as a team member and keep the brand strong until the boss gets home.”
Drake will be on the new Young Money compilation album We Are Young Money out December 15.
