There are a shit ton of TIFF parties that will bubble up in the next ten days, but this is the (fun) one where you’ll get to meet the women in Toronto’s film and arts community that could help leverage your career.
While we love the international talent that drops down during TIFF, Shedoesthecity is all about supporting local Toronto women first and foremost, so we’re thrilled to sponsor Extend during #TIFF17 at The Great Hall.
Hosted by Dominique van Olm and presented by deviio, Extend is a curated exhibition showcasing some of the up-and-coming female filmmakers, photographers and musicians in the Toronto arts community and the ways they extend themselves into new spaces, creatively and professionally. It’s an evening to celebrate strong women, strong creativity and strong ambitions and will offer a space for women to network, showcase and speak about their work.
If you work in the film or music biz (or aspire to), this is definitely a night for you. If you don’t, that’s cool…we don’t all need to exist in the same biz to help each other out.
This evening is all about women helping women helping women. Swing by, have a drink, meet some peeps, shuffle your feet, swivel your hips, see some work, get out of your bubble, and walk out thinking ’bout stuff (with a few new biz cards to boot). Toronto is ripe with talent: let’s celebrate together.
Extend takes place Thursday, September 14 at The Great Hall (1087 Queen Street West) 7:30pm – 11:30pm. Check out the FB event page and reserve your spot.
