Be proud, Toronto. We rallied together and marched 60,000 strong. Whether the focus of your personal protest was to show solidarity with our American neighbours, call out sexual assault, vocalize your opinion on evil leadership, join the anti-hate movement, shout it out that BLACK LIVES MATTER, make it clear that you will not rest until equal rights is a reality for all, join in the chorus that empathy makes us stronger, make it loud and clear that LGBTQIA rights are human rights, that having an abortion is a woman’s right, that climate change is real, or other important reasons, we all stood together on the right side of history.
Let us ensure that this past weekend marked a fresh beginning of a more unified front when it comes to feminism and justice for all. Let us also ensure that the momentum carries forward and that we build on this movement.
While it is created for Americans, the Women’s March website offers great ideas of how to keep active and work towards a brighter future. If you want to learn how to organize your activism in Toronto, here’s a good place to start.
Stay conscious, speak up, and use your privilege to help others. Whenever in doubt, ask yourself: what’s the right thing to do? Then do it.
