For those hoping to get their loved ones something a little different this holiday season, Woke Tings has you covered. Taking place Saturday at #Hashtag Gallery (830 Dundas St. W.), this holiday market is a curated event full of woke vendors selling must-have vintage, handmade accessories, and specialty items made right here in Toronto.
Here’s what you’ll find: body-positive prints and stickers, boob totes, tees, and other feminist goodies from Alisha Davidson; Sidai: 000, a zine celebrating art as it pertains to black bodies; pop culture greeting cards from Bey Good Co.; streetwear from Creeps; macrame and small-scale wooden furniture from Lisa Terry; ethical and eco-friendly vintage clothing from Shop Strange Fruit, and lots more.
The holiday market runs from 5 to 11 p.m. and is free. Afterwards, catch DJ GimmeMar spinning a mix of 90s/early 2000s hip-hop and R&B along with some newer bangers in the basement. Entry to the dance party is $5 or PWYC, with all proceeds going to the Among Friends LGBTQ Refugee Support Group.
