Last year, more than 96,000 Canadian women were diagnosed with cancer. Of those in treatment, 84% were concerned about how cancer negatively altered their personal appearance.

Looks aren’t everything, but when you look good, you definitely feel a little better. In an effort to help give women facing cancer a boost, members of the Canadian beauty industry launched Beauty Gives Back. Beauty Gives Back holds “Look Good Feel Better” workshops at cancer centres across the country, and runs FacingCancer.ca, an online support community for women with cancer.

On November 19th at the Allstream Centre (105 Princes’ Blvd), join Beauty Gives Back for their 25th Annual Mirror Ball Fundraiser + After-party.  This year’s fundraiser features a cocktail reception, a silent and fine wine auction, a gala dinner, and live entertainment. Afterwards is the after-party with great food, drinks, prizes + beats by DJ Honey Dijon all night long. All proceeds go towards the workshops and online support community – both vital in giving women confidence while facing the emotional adversities of cancer. If you or someone you love has been touched by cancer, you know how important that is.
