Mississauga native Alessia Cohle is a multi-talented country singer & songwriter. Her first single, “How Bad,” off her full length sophomore album, Talk To Me, is already making airwaves on Canadian country radio. Her album is set to be released early November, with her album release party November 15th at Lula Lounge (1585 Dundas St. W).
SDTC: What should we be paying more attention to?
AC: Each other. Everyone spends so much time on their cell phones, computers, and other devices that we rarely make real connections anymore.
What was the last Netflix series you binged on?
Grey’s Anatomy! All twelve seasons.
One new thing you learned this year?
I’ve learned that I’m really bad at being bad. I’m too honest and I greatly value people’s trust.
What memory brings a smile to your face?
All the travels I’ve been fortunate enough to experience in my life this far.
How do you recharge your batteries?
By turning off all my batteries for at least an hour – especially my cell phone and computer.
Best advice you’ve been given?
“Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” It’s cliché, but it’s effective.
What is the best part of being your current age?
Beginning to understand the balance of knowing when to be responsible, and when it’s okay to let loose and just have fun.
What word or phrase should we use more often?
I love you.
What’s on your night table?
The current book I’m reading, A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff, a lamp, and a glass of water.
What one item would you be lost without (besides your phone)?
My family (including my dog). They’re my rock in life and they continue to help me through anything whenever I need them.
Weirdest thing in your purse right now?
My purse is boring – I only carry my wristlet around, so all I carry is the necessities, my IDs, money, and lipstick.
What trends are you loving right now?
I don’t really follow trends – I like to do my own thing and if I like it and am happy with it, I stick to it.

Brian from the Backstreet Boys ☺
