Let the Music Play, Tuesdays at Korova (3904 St-Laurent), is giving people one more reason to call in sick Wednesday morning. A new party night that is steadily gaining momentum, LTMP is throwback to a funkier time, delivering booty-shaking disco as well as soul and funk from the 70s and 80s.
Resident DJs Bain Magique and Disco Dee serve up dance-floor fillers and post-funk killers while frequent visits from guest DJs F.U.N.K., Jay Watts III and Adam Wilcox ensure the beats stay fresh week after week.
No cover, outrageously cheap drink specials from 9 to 11pm, and still-low prices after 11pm mean you can booze and boogie all night without breaking the bank.
Tip: LTMP is a hot and sticky good time. Korova’s notoriously bad ventilation system will turn overdressed partygoers into listless puddles of sweat. Beat the heat by wearing as little clothing as possible. At Korova, dancing around half-naked is part of the fun.
