If you haven’t experienced mental illness for yourself, chances are someone near and dear to you has. So what is the big deal about actually talking about it? This is 2016, people.
All in Our Heads is back with their third round of awesome storytellers who will share their stories of mental illness in order to contribute to the anti-stigma conversation. Six seasoned storytellers will take to the stage at Bambi’s (1265 Dundas St. W) and share the message that everyone has a mental health story, and talking about it shouldn’t be taboo.
This event is Donate What You Can (with a suggested donation $10 – $30). All proceeds will support the work of Art with Impact Canada. This incredible organization provides structured, safe spaces to learn, cultivate empathy, reduce stigma, and connect individuals to comprehensive mental health resources. They are also building the world’s most diverse and compelling collection of short films on mental health, supporting a network of filmmakers, artists and young people in an interactive online community.
All in Our Heads takes place September 11 at 7 p.m.
