Bloor and Ossington is getting exciting, guys. It’s always been exciting, of course, but in the past few months there have just been a ton of cool new businesses opening up, and the little Bloor West strip is really making itself a hub of indie comedy and theatre in the city. Between Comedy Bar, The Storefront Theatre, and the newest edition—Bad Dog Theatre Company’s brand spanking new academy and performance space, there are tons of fantastic live shows going on in the ‘hood every night! 9-to-5 is one of them, and it’s pretty fantastic.
Set at a fictional mid-90s women’s mag, 9 to 5 brings you into the work and personal lives of its staff and contributors, taking you back to a time when lips were frosted, shoulders were padded, hair was regrettable, and tough women were just trying to make it big in a man’s world. It’s hilarious, it’s nostalgic, it’s got an increeeedible Loeb-heavy soundtrack.
You can check out the very talented cast* and the cool new space every Wednesday from this one through September 17th! Shows start at 9:30pm, and tickets are available online or at the door.
*many of the cast members are friends of ours, but honestly it’s Toronto what do you want from us, you know? Also they are for REAL so talented.
