Earth Month is a time to reconnect with nature, reflect on your environmental impact, and implement sustainable changes in your life.

Taking action can mean starting small—learning to repair or upcycle your clothes, or picking up a few pieces of trash at a nearby park. It can also mean taking the time to learn about climate change, sustainability, and the impact your everyday actions can have on the environment.

If you’re looking for a way to get involved, take action, or celebrate our planet this Earth Month in Toronto, look no further than our list of events, workshops and resources!

Take an immersive journey through our planet at Arcadia Earth

In celebration of Earth Month, a brand new room at Arcadia Earth will explore how every action has a reaction. Through powerful visuals, this new installation will show how even the smallest actions can impact the planet, and help visitors reflect on the effects of overconsumption. Plus, enjoy a long weekend Earth Fest from April 18-21, with an eco-conscious marketplace, animal encounters, and hands-on sustainable crafts. More info.

Spend a weekend outdoors with eco-themed fun at Evergreen Brick Works

With farmer’s markets, workshops, art installations, and exciting pop-ups, Evergreen Brick Works is celebrating Earth Month with special activities every weekend in April. Turn waste and invasive plant species into art, shop for local sustainable goodies, or simply take a walk and explore the gorgeous natural beauty of the site. More info.

Detox your devices to save energy

This Earth Day cleanup can happen in the comfort of your own home. Storing digital files consumes huge amounts of energy and water, so digital decluttering is one way you can help conserve. Join this virtual gathering on April 20 for a guided meditation followed by a focused 40 minutes of collectively deleting old files, photos, emails, and apps. More info.

Upcycle your clothes at a creative, hands-on workshop

Give your clothes a new life and learn more about sustainable fashion at this free event on April 23. The evening will begin with insights from a textile waste expert, followed by a hands-on workshop. Upcycle, repair, and personalize your own clothes with iron-on patches, fabric paints, decorative stitching, and more. Creative materials will be provided. More info.

Join a 20-minute cleanup at parks across the city

By the end of the month, hundreds of spots around the city will be a little cleaner than before. This annual spring cleanup from April 25-27 invites groups across the city to host 20-minute cleanups of local parks, beaches, ravines, or other natural spaces. Gather your friends, family or colleagues, and help keep our city’s natural spaces litter-free. More info.

Plant a tree at Downsview Park

Join the Earth Day festivities on April 27 at Downsview Park for a day of hands-on, outdoor activities celebrating our planet. Take part in a tree-planting session, go on a trishaw ride around the park, or immerse yourself in a guided nature walk. With activities for your little ones like story time, a scavenger hunt, and a campfire, everyone in the family can enjoy some nature-related fun. More info.
