Join the Darling Foundry team on Thursday June 14th for an event celebrating their tenth anniversary as one of Montreal’s foremost contemporary art centres. Located in a magnificent reclaimed foundry in Griffintown, Darling Foundry will mark ten years with a showcase of indoor and outdoor musical and visual performances and open studios.
The celebrations will run in two parts:
From 6pm-8pm, Darling Foundry’s annual fundraiser will feature an art sale, a concert presented by Montreal Baroque, guided artist studio tours, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres care of Cluny ArtBar’s appetizers. Guests will be treated to two openings: Les oeuvres qui n’étaient pas là, by Guillaume Labrie and Mix Misuse by Jon Knowles. They’ll also have the chance to seeLise Courtès’s archive-based film, 10 ans Ma Darling (10 Years, My Darling!).
Then, from 8:30pm-midnight, the evening continues at the 745 Ottawa Street public square with a dance party that is open to the general public! DJ Champion, DJ Lynne T, DJ Zubi, DJ Dee Bufato and VJ Chocobeets, and a performance by Dineo Seshee Bopape. A “culinary performance” by the trio Tom de Pékin, Virgine Jourdain and Bertrand Bertrand will also be presented, featuring the dripping of liquid nougat in a mold to reproduce the metal foundry procedure. Visitors will also be able to see the openings, watch the 10 ans Ma Darling! film and chat with the Darling artists-in-residence Nicolas Brown, Dineo Seshee Bopape and Martin Chramosta.
