The Montreal Crew Brings it to Toronto every first Saturday @ The Drake

By Robyn Sprott

There is a man from Montreal who has the softest, most velveteen-like skin in all the land. While this fact alone is astonishing, it doesn’t stop there. Legend has it he throws the raddest parties where all the top-shelf tastemakers rejoice in a fiesta on the dance floor and “bare gines” and “33 cent a minute pay-as-you go kinda gals” (cell phone speaking, you pervo) come alive. This man with freakishly velvety soft skin and current cock of the walk roosting on the partying throne goes by the name of Sir D.L. Jones, and he is one of the individuals responsible for Peer Pressure.

Your mother was probably right when she told you to stay away from “those kids.” You know the ones. The ones that take risks, binge drink, and indulge in recreational drug use all in the name of Peer Pressure. Well its time you tell your mother to shut the e’ff up and give in to Peer Pressure!

The Peer Pressure crew is a collective of influential and progressive kids, whom through word of mouth have come to own the Montreal party circuit. With a network of fully capable DJ’s, promoters designers and Electro-sluts (followers) they successfully appease the hedonistic electrophile in all of us with both national and international talent.

Diplo, Rye Rye, Flosstradamus, Titsworth, Chromeo, Yelle, Lady Sov, NROTB, Sinden, Nick Catchdubs, Kid Sister, Low B and JOTS are just a few of the guests whom have accompanied resident DJ’s A-Rock, Hatchmatik and Merk Meny on the 1’s & 2’s.

Not only do they have all the noteworthy Dj’s and Mc’s covered, but for the lucky ones residing in ‘treal, they have most evenings taken care of. With parties almost every night, there is sure to be a party that pacifies your inner Electo-sluttiness.

For those residing in Toronto, you can appease your need by crashing the Peer Pressure monthly at the Drake, every first Saturday of the month when the resident P.P. Boys do whatever it is they do so well. However lets face it; Montreal has an energy and vigor Toronto just doesn’t seem to possess, and Peer Pressure is a key factor!

GIVE IN TO PEER PRESSURE, and if you happen to see D.L tell him the Velveteen Appreciation Society of Toronto sent you:
