Deep Cove is a beautiful spot to chill in the city without feeling like you’re in the midst of urban sprawl. From kayak rentals to picnic tables, the laid back waterfront will satisfy any budget and keep you busy while you enjoy the breath taking views.
A a double canoe/kayak goes for $46 for two hours on weekends, but if your looking to spend a bit less (aka nothing at all) check out the hiking trails or simply walk along the waterfront neighbourhoods and gawk at the architecture.
The main drag is a quaint strip of shops and restaurants surrounded by landscape design and garden upkeep TOO perfect to be real. Get on your Stepford wife radar as you stroll past the busy patios to Honey Doughnuts and Goodies (4373 Gallant Ave) where you will indulge in the most amazing doughnut OF YOUR LIFE. You will never be happier that bikini season is at an end. They also serve JJ Bean coffee so your city urges will not go unsatisfied.
Grab a few friends this weekend and check this charming waterfront community a short drive from the chaos of downtown. If you listen really closely as you relax in the Panorama Park you may faintly hear the screams of Robson street traffic.
